The 2019 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition, full size pick up truck, luxurious and safe with a super-sized four-door CrewMax cabin. If you are going to buy a Tundra, I strongly suggest going for the Tundra 1794 Edition, a very special truck in the lineup.
The Tundra 1794 is ready for the toughest roads and adventures with ultimate off-road performance, but tough doesn’t mean not being attractive. The Tundra is very luxury and attractive, especially in the inside.
Toyota Tundra
The Toyota Tundra is a full-size truck manufactured in the United States by prestigious Japanese manufacturer Toyota since May 1999.
The Tundra was the first full-size truck built by a Japanese manufacturer for the North American market. This shows how Japanese car companies become more americanized and adapt to the needs of US car buyers.
The Tundra is proudly American, assembled in San Antonio, Texas, where production started since 2008. So far this is the only full size pick up truck manufactured in Texas.
After a major facelift a year ago, the Tundra keeps bringing more changes, updating style and safety.
Tundra Models
The 2019 Tundra full-size pickup is available in six different trim levels:
- SR
- SR5
- Limited
- Platinum
- 1794 edition (the one I am test driving)
- TRD Pro
Cabin, Bed and 4×4 Options
When buying a Tundra you can choose a body style with the crew’s standard Double Cab or CrewMax (extra large). You also have choices of three types of bed lengths, 5.5-foot short bed, 6.5-foot standard bed, and 8.1-foot long bed.
Some Tundra models are available as 2×2 and as 4×4 also, but not all combinations and features are available in all trim models.
Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition
I am test driving the special edition Tundra 1794, this is a very elegant and powerful pick-up truck. In the interior, it is very luxury and premium with leather and wood details, and on the exterior, it looks a little bit Vintage and it is very attractive.
The 1794 trim was made in memory of the year that a sprawling ranch was founded on the current site of Toyota’s Tundra plant in San Antonio, Texas. This model is inspired by western lifestyle.
The 2019 Toyota Tundra 1794 is available only with the 5.5-ft. Short Bed and CrewMax extra-large cabin. The Tundra 1794 rear seats can be folded up for additional cargo space in the second row.
The CrewMax extra-large cabin gives you enough space to seat passengers in the back with extra comfort, and enough space to bring pets, shopping bags, toys or anything else you may need to carry inside, without feeling too tight.
The 1794 Edition is available either as a 2×2 or as 4×4.
15 MPG Average
With an average of 15 miles per gallon combined consumption, this truck can be expensive to drive, especially in long distances. Yes, the pleasure to drive a Tundra is totally rewarding if you can afford it, but if you want to save in fuel, then it will be better to look for other models with higher fuel efficiency.
Bed
The Tundra 1794 short bed is not really short, it has a nice interior size with a length of 66.7 inches, a width of 66.4 inches, with 50 inches between the wheelwells and a height of 22.2 inches. This short bed has more than enough space for most of us and it allows you to own a full size pick up truck that is easier to park and maneuver than those pick-up trucks with longer beds.
