Beautiful, dramatic and eye-catching, that is the E400 Coupe

This is the second time I test drive the E-400 coupe, first in Vancouver, Canada, and now in Florida. Through the mountains outside of Vancouver, or through the coast of Florida, this attractive coupe has perfect performance and driving precision.  The new generation E-Class Coupe by Mercedes Benz. For the first time Mercedes Benz built a coupe using the same powertrain of the E-Class. This two-door coupe is filling an empty space between the C-Class and the S-Class.

Introduction

The 2018 Mercedes Benz E400 4Matic Coupe is a completely new generation of E-Class coupes. It is more spacious, stylish and certainly more beautiful than its predecessor.

Coupes are usually 2-doors smaller “cut” versions of a regular sedan automobile, with limited rear space, but very appealing as per their beautiful design and lines. Coupes are more streamlined and sportier than most four-door sedans. The new E-400 is a new kind of coupe, with larger space in the backseats and trunk but conserving the classic beautiful sporty look and appeal.  This E400 Coupe is the perfect middle between the S and C coupes. It is ideal for those drivers who feel that the S-class coupe is too big but the C-class is too small, it is also a good value a compromise in terms pricing, starting around $60K.

This stylish coupe has a new body, bigger and with perfect proportions to satisfy coupe lovers who need more space, especially because of a new roof and a completely new exterior design. More space for all passengers, thanks to the increased dimensions of the body and wheelbase.  The design of the E-class coupe comes with certain styling elements of new generations C-class and S-class, using the powertrain of the E400 sedan, and with its own personality, the curve from the roof to the back ends in an infinite-like aerodynamic shape.

Performance

Besides luxury and beauty  this coupe has a powerful and efficient 3.0L V6 biturbo engine fast and ready for any adventure. For better driving control and shifts, the E400 coupe comes with a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission.   For those who like power and precision, the 2018 E400 coupe produces 329 Horse Power and a Torque of 354 lb-ft.  There are other Mercedes Benz models that produce much more HP, but it will be very rare for a driver to use the full 329 HP that is already more than enough.

Exterior

If you meet the new E400 coupe for the first time, be sure it will be love at the first sight.

The look of the 2018 Mercedes Benz E400 4Matic Coupe is outstanding, it is marvelously stylish. The E400 Coupe has a very original design, especially the rear lines of its body are designed to look amazing but also to have more interior space. The trunk lid and tailpipes are different from the smaller and bigger brothers C and S class.  The two-door body type is unique and very attractive.

The exterior of the 2018 Mercedes Benz E400 4Matic Coupe includes many classic features of the brand. It looks stylish, modern and sporty. Front LED headlamps multibeam teardrop shaped, spectacular grille with a large three-beam star, a fairing with sections of air intakes. A long hood line that continue the design with the top of the car. It looks elegant and clean and frame-free. Solid wheel arches with 17 or 18-inch discs.

A nice detail are the moving lights, changing their direction, depending on whether the car opens or closes.

Interior

The interior of the new generation Mercedes Benz Coupe has some similar details to other cars of the same brand but still it is unique. It has some similar details to the E-class sedan. The A/C vents are designed in a very unusual style that look like the nozzles of a jet engine turbines, that is just one more of several details that make the interior unique and very luxury. Also, specially designed for this coupe, front and rear seats design.
