2024 Jeep Gladiator Mojave
Written by Marco Carvajal
The Gladiator is a true legend, it is the best Jeep Brand pickup truck you can buy, but this is not your typical pickup truck, this is a 4×4 Jeep vehicle similar to the Wrangler, or to the old first Jeep Brand vehicles built by Willys-Overland in the 1940s, but merged with a pickup truck bed for convenient large cargo loads.
If you look at Gladiator from the front, it doesn’t look like a pick-up truck at all. It is a Jeep with a large cargo bed.
Test driving a Gladiator is fun and makes you feel you can drive on any off-road or difficult driving conditions without being afraid of getting stuck, with the additional advantage of a nice bed for cargo.
If you want power the Gladiator has an impressive 7,700-pound gas towing capacity on the Sport and Sport S trim models when equipped with the available Max Tow Package, and then the Best-in-Class 1,725-pound 4×4 payload on Sport S models.
The new Gladiator looks great with a refreshed look, new standard safety and security features, and advanced technology. One of my favorite tech features is the new standard feature on all Gladiator trim models, the Uconnect 5 system, which comes with an immersive 12.3-inch touchscreen for large visibility. Then the available Uconnect 5 NAV system lets you tap into Segment-Exclusive Integrated Off-Road Adventure Guides, featuring all 68 Jeep Badge of Honor trails.
The Mojave I am driving comes with standard 17-Inch Aluminum Wheels with Black-Painted Pockets
First-Ever and Only Desert Rated Jeep Brand Vehicle
The Gladiator Mojave is the first-ever built desert-rated vehicle within the brand Jeep. If you want to drive in the Sahara or one of the four major deserts: Great Basin, Mohave, Chihuahuan, and Sonoran, then the Jeep Mojave will be the Gladiator helping you to fight these very difficult off-road terrains.
This 4×4 2020 Jeep Gladiator Mojave 4×4 is ready to take you on any adventure from the Red Rock Canyon to the slippery sands of any desert, or even the Sahara desert in Egypt too.
New Gladiator features like the available ParkSense Rear Park Assist System that uses sonar sensors to sound an alert when you get too close to a potential hazard when backing into a parking spot. Plus, the ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera works together with the Uconnect touchscreen to help guide you when you shift into reverse.
Mojave is Part of the Top of the Line Jeep Gladiator
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator lineup includes 9 different Gladiator trim models when I wrote this article. The trims Mojave and Rubicon and Rubicon X, are the three top models in the Gladiator family. Mojave is my favorite model and pricing is not too bad near $53K for a top-of-the-line Gladiator Jeep.
Meaning of the Mojave Model Besides the Water
The word Mojave has been used in several locations including the Mojave Desert, Mojave Mountains, Mojave Valley, Mojado River, and more. It is believed to mean “along or beside the water,” It seems to be a composition of two old Indian words. The Indian word Mojave means along/beside and the Indian word Aha means water. Besides meaning, the name Mojave gives a sense of adventure and power.
The powerful Gladiator Mojave is inspired by off-road geographic locations, like rivers and deserts, where only a Jeep Mojave can ride.
3.6-liter Pentastar V6 Engine
The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that powers the Jeep Gladiator Mojave produces 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque and comes with ESS (Electronic Start / Stop) technology as standard. A six-speed manual transmission comes standard with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, with the option to replace it with 8-speed automatic transmission.
The Mojave has been built to produce a wide range of torque and especially to improve delivery for the practice of extreme off-road.
