2023 Volvo XC90 Recharge eAWD Ultimate
This week I am test-driving the extravagant 2023 Volvo XC90 Recharge eAWD Ultimate, a midsize luxury SUV with 3 rows for up to 7 passengers.
I love this SUV for its clean and elegant look and for the dual power technology using Electric Plug-in and Hybrid with its T8 eAWD Engine
Some people may have the idea that electrically powered cars have less power than gas cars, but usually, it is the opposite, and the 2023 XC-90 is very capable and powerful with 455 horsepower, more than you probably ever need.
The XC-90 Recharge is very efficient and versatile. You can use gas and enjoy hybrid technology or you can plug in this SUV to any electrical outlet or at a fast charging station to power your XC90 just with electricity and drive it with a short range of 35 miles Electric Range.

Engine and Performance
Volvo offers great engine and parts quality, especially when you go into hybrid and electric cars Volvo is one of the most innovative brands working towards future full electrification.
The new 2023 XC-90 hybrid engine is a T8 eAWD that is very fast with a speed of 0-60 MPH In 5 Seconds and an advanced eAWD to drive on any road or off-road. This engine has a lot of power with 523 Lb. Ft Torque and 455 Horsepower.
The transmission includes quick and smooth shifting 8-speed Geartronic automatic transmission offering superior efficiency and an intuitive drive with the right gear whether it’s for optimal engine response.
Driving the XC-90 you can enjoy very high fuel efficiency, and dynamic driving just shift to manual mode.
The new XC-90 Recharges has specs of 58 MPGe with 32 miles of Electric Range. The actual range can vary depending on driving style, temperature, use of the vehicle’s climate system, and other factors such as elevation, wind, rain, and road surface.
Advanced Volvo functions like Hill Start Assist allow you to start uphill or downhill without the vehicle moving while you move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator. It keeps the brakes applied for a short period after you’ve released the brake pedal making it safe to move on steep hills.
Then Hill Descent Control offers controlled descents on steep, rough, and slippery roads. When activated, it helps you descend smoothly from 8 to 40 km/h (5 to 25 mph) using engine braking or, if needed, by braking each wheel individually, your Volvo will control the brakes for you, you just have to steer the wheel. With Hill Descent you can brake anytime or, if you prefer, accelerate to adapt to the speed.
The smooth accelerator features of Volvo’s advanced Hill Descent Control make it easier to drive off when towing a heavy trailer or a boat up a ramp. It works in forward or reverse gears.
Volvo’s advanced and economical micro-hybrid technology including a Start/Stop function further reduces fuel consumption and exhaust emissions in the city. When you stop at a traffic light or in a traffic jam, the engine shuts off temporarily to eliminate idling and then it restarts instantly when you start to drive again.
Design
With seat ventilation and a nice ten-point massage for your back, you will feel like a king when driving the luxury XC-90.

On the lower section of the display, you have instant access to commonly used features such as Park Assist Camera views and in-car apps. The display’s portrait format facilitates your overview when navigating. And if needed, you can easily rearrange most of the touchscreen buttons to suit your preferences.
The head-up display presents vital driver information so it appears in your field of vision at a distance that’s comfortable for your eyes. You can keep your eyes on the traffic at the same time as you see the current speed, speed limits, navigation directions, and more. You don’t have to change focus or look down, which means less strain on the eyes. The brightness of the head-up display adapts automatically to current light conditions, and you can set the system to suit your own personal preferences and link it to the memory function for the power-operated seat.
The new-generation 12-inch instrument panel shows all the essential driver information that’s needed to keep you constantly updated.
